The app for exploring playgrounds in the city of Zurich, the project was a data-driven design based on information sources given by the city of Zurich. The main goal was to integrate this information and formulate an app that will transform the information to be accessible. 

CONDUCTING USER RESEARCH

The research phase aimed to gather insights from different users. I started with 5 personas and narrowed them down to 3 main ones, grouped into Locals and Visitors. I identified their shared needs to develop future features that would keep the app relevant and essential.

Solving Problems

Through user research and real-life observations, we identified common challenges faced by both new and local parents. These insights revealed critical UX pain points such as navigation, accessibility, and language that directly informed our design solutions to create a smoother, more inclusive
user experience.

The user journey is based on two main scenarios, each representing a series of actions performed to achieve a specific goal, I have created two distinct user journeys.

Plan in advance

Dana is currently in Israel she is planing to visit her sister with her family she would like to find playgrounds which suits her needs.

Local searching based on current location

Dana is currently shopping on Bahnhofstrasse with the kids. They're getting restless, so she'd like to take them to the nearest playground and share the location with her husband.

Playground overview

The search feature allows users to quickly locate playgrounds by entering a city, area name, or specific street. This makes it easy to find nearby play areas based on location preferences.

The user can explore the playgrounds in their area by selecting a location on the map, using the search bar, or viewing the "Explore Nearby" map.

filter & result

The filter screen allows users to refine the results and find suitable playgrounds for their needs based on specific criteria, such as age range, equipment type (slides, swings, etc.), accessibility features, and safety ratings. Additionally, a search functionality can enable users to find playgrounds by name, address, or specific features they desire.

detailed information

The app provides essential details on equipment, facilities, and surroundings. Users can review, rate playgrounds, and share experiences to help others choose the best spots. Features include favorites and personalized settings.
